Problem
Rivian was expanding the manufacturing plant and building dozens of service projects, charging stations, and showrooms across the country at any given time. Every day, projects were changing status: kicking off, going on hold, closing out. With over 200 active projects, it took an enormous amount of time to manually manage all the data for every one of them. It took full-time admins to update permissions and ensure standards across hundreds of projects.
Solution

Clean database and automation pipelines that would trigger on status changes.
- Seed project management software with all the necessary information.
- Spin up new Revit models with the correct configurations based on project type.
- Build templates and deploy them to the correct type of project at scale
- Add the correct people to the project and grant the necessary permissions so everyone had the exact amount of access to the correct folders and workflows.
- Flag missing information or standards violations and escalate to the correct person.
Results
- Saved hundreds of hours of manual project management and doc control
- Reduced human errors through scalable automations
- More secure projects through detailed permissions rules
